The PW Summer Salad Gathering will take place August 29 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the home of Sandy Franklin. Bring your favorite salad or dessert and wear your favorite hat. Our service project is back to school items for the Northside Neighborhood House; a list of needed items will be available in the August newsletter. RSVP by August 26 to Sandy or Claire.

On August 30, we’ll celebrate Christian Education at Second! Our CE teachers and volunteers will be recognized during worship, and information will be available about all of our CE classes.

Make plans to join us August 30 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Helwig Fellowship Hall for an evening of cool treats and fun fellowship. Sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board if you can bring a sweet treat, but come regardless of whether you bring something - we’ll have plenty!

We’ll conclude our One Church One Book study with a discussion and lunch in the Helwig Fellowship Hall after worship on August 30. It’s not too late to read the short book, The Greatest Sentence Ever Written, by Walter Isaacson. Copies are available in the office.

September 2

Join us for our Evening Circle Kick-Off Celebration on Wednesday, September 2 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Helwig Fellowship Hall! Come enjoy an evening of food, fellowship, and fun as we gather to reconnect, welcome new faces, and get to know one another. Food and drinks will be provided, and Bible study books will be available for pickup. This year, we will be studying Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians through the book United Through Christ, Bound to Each Other. We'll dive into lesson one in October, so our September gathering is simply a time to enjoy being together and kick off a wonderful new year of Evening Circle. All are welcome—we hope you'll join us!

Coming this fall, Outreach and Christian Education are presenting an exciting series! Hosted by our Faith Community Nurse, please join us for Living Well, Celebrating Joy September 8 - October 27, Tuesday mornings from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Bring a friend, have coffee, learn a bit and celebrate together. All young adults of the church are invited to a new study group during the Sunday School hour on Sunday mornings. We are studying the book What Do We Do With the Bible by Richard Rohr. Meet in the library at 10:00 - coffee provided! Please see Emma Rees for more information.
